What does your Discipline look like?

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him

24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Even more so in this generation we have so many things pinging us everything.  Our attention is bothered around every corner and turn.  If you drive down the street you instantly see advertisements pulling you from what you set out to do. We have to literally fight all the time to and say yes or no to things we don’t even want to think about.  This is a serious time and out attention can be just like a boat our at sea.  Tossed here and there based on what is coming our way.

I encourage you today, whatever day it is you are reading this, to set your mind on single things.  Be single minded in what you are going to do and what you are going to choose.  This makes life’s journey so much more attractive and makes the day more confident because now you have a goal or a set agenda to accomplish.

More importantly when it comes to our relationship with the Lord God of Heaven.  Lets be intentional and decided before hand to avoid those temptations and advertisements that we don’t want, lets say no before we start out day. The enemy wants nothing more than to distract and have you undisciplined in your day to day life.  As God told Joshua in the Old Testament, be STRONG and COURAGEOUS and fight the good fight being single minded in your daily life.
